Can you believe what fabulous weather we are having at the moment? It always takes us by surprise and we are never prepared. I remember one year during a heatwave the local supermarkets actually ran out of ice-cream, the DIY stores ran out of electric fans and finding a pair of shorts for age 4-5 years was virtually impossible!

The kids love to play outside when the weather is good and they have great fun keeping cool in paddling pools. We have a great selection of paddling pools at PriceRightHome together with other outside play equipment such as play tents, bikes, scooters and even space hoppers. The older kids will love our selection of Aerobies (Frisbees) and Science Museum Stomp Rockets and Solar Airship.

If you are going for a picnic or camping then why not consider our fold up camping chairs or our poncho towels for when the little ones go swimming. We also have a selection of beach towels, bucket and spade / bat and ball sets.

We are all enjoying the fantastic weather at PriceRightHome - lets hope it continues!

Room Make-Over

A little while ago my son was desperate to have his room decorated - he kept on telling me that a 'Thomas the Tank Engine' themed bedroom was no longer 'cool' for a six and a half year old. I had to agree he was right and we discussed at great length as to what his new bedroom should look like. His suggestions were painting the whole room bright red, painting the room black to recreate 'the universe' or more worryingly, he could draw some pictures on the wall with felt tip pens!

With little time to spare to carry out a full-blown re-decoration, I suggested that we remove the Thomas border and accessories from his room and showed him some room make-over kits that we could use to transform his bedroom with very little effort.

At PriceRightHome we stock a fantastic range of room make-over kits, from your favourite Disney characters to classic designs such as the sea or outer space. He really liked the Walltastic Football Crazy Wallpaper Mural, which even has the players in white strip, ready for you to colour in your favourite team colours. Our 'Fun to See' room make-over kits can easily transform a bedroom with very little hassle. The stickers are 100% stick and peel, so there is no need for glue, paste or scissors.

So why not delight your kids with a room transformation - PriceRightHome are offering a 10% discount on all wall stickers at the moment, simply type in "summer" at the checkout.

Wimbledon 2009

Wimbledon 2009 commences today and following the number one seed, Rafael Nadal's announcement that he will not be taking part this year due to a knee injury, third seed Andy Murray really does seem to have a chance of winning his first grand slam title. Wimbledon hasn't been won by a British player since Fred Perry triumphed in 1936! However, Andy may still need to face the number two seed Roger Federer who already has five Wimbledon titles under his belt. Federer opens the tournament on centre court today when he plays Yen-Hsun Lu.

Wimbledon always seems to stimulate outside play for both adults and kids! Local tennis courts are suddenly booked solid and sales of tennis rackets go up. At PriceRightHome we have a number of outside play products ie bikes, scooters, skateboards, tricycles and pop up play tents. We even stock tennis bat/ball sets for budding Wimbledon champions!

Dr Who

Did you know that Dr Who is the longest running science fiction TV series in the World? The programme originally ran from 1963-1989 and was successfully relaunched in 2005 The Doctor has been played by ten actors over the history of the show so far, the first being William Hartnell.

Dr Who is a national institution in the UK and watching from 'behind the sofa' is one of the great shared experiences of British childhood! There is a new series coming out in Spring 2010 and the new eleventh Doctor is to be played by unknown actor Matt Smith. The Doctors new assistant has recently been announced as Karen Gillan. Karen is a young, and again unknown Scottish actress, who has already appeared in the drama, having played a Soothsayer in the Fires of Pompeii in the last series.

There is even a rumour that a Dr Who film script is in development, however there has yet to be an official announcement. David Tennant will appear in a special episode 'The Waters of Mars' in November this year, with two further 'one-offs', before handing the role over to Matt Smith.

Dr Who fans will be pleased to see that we stock a great range of Dr Who products at PriceRightHome and we anticipate increasing our range when the new series starts in 2010.

England 6 - Andorra 0!!

The 2010 World Cup in South Africa will be kicking off today, this time next year and after England's impressive performance last night we are within touching distance of qualifying. Confidence is high as we are top of Group 6 and we have only three more games to play.

Whilst football is dominating the news at the moment it also dominates my home life too! Both my boys play for a local team and my husband trains the under 6's so there is a never ending pile of football kits to wash and boots to clean. The boys always want the latest strip and I must have spent a fortune on Match Attack cards in the hope of finding the extremely rare 'Rooney one'!.

At PriceRightHome we have a selection of England bedding and we anticipate increasing our range in the near future, especially if we qualify! Our England duvet at just £9.99 is a popular item, not only just for football fans but for patriotic souls too! We also have a great selection of England Premiership team products (including Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal etc) from as little as £14.49 for a duvet and pillowcase. Why not consider a complete room makeover? We also sell wallpaper, borders, curtains, rugs, lamps, uplighters and even alarm clocks.

We are all looking forward to the World Cup here at PriceRightHome, let's hope its a good one for England!

Role play fun with Pop Up Play Tents

Remember when you were a kid? We didn't have playstations to lock into or cartoons 12 hours a day! However, in some ways I think we had more fun - we played outside more and used our imaginations to create a new game or used our hands to build something. Role play activities were also great fun, something which children still enjoy today.

At PriceRightHome we have some great Pop Up Play Tents which help to stimulate hours of interactive role play and adventure. The tents are easy to assemble and can be used both indoors and outdoors. They fold away for easy storage and can be wiped clean. Your little ones will love the Disney Cars Mack Track with it's hand held sound recorder or the Thomas & Friends Station and Arch with play mat and crawl through archway.

There is also the Disney Princess Castle which will delight all budding princesses! If your children enjoy playing 'shops' then the Fifi and The Flowertots Poppy's Market Stall would be perfect. If you're having friends over to play then the In the Night Garden Ninky Nonk Play set is great fun, with it's four separate components.

All our Pop Up Play Tents are attractively packaged and are ideal to give as presents. Hopefully, summer is now on it's way and we are offering a 10% discount on all of our Play Tents. Simply enter the code 'Summer' at the PriceRightHome checkout.

Gifts for Boys

When your son brings home yet another Party invitation from school you will probably be thinking 'what on earth can I buy as a present?' Boys are particularly difficult to buy for especially since our local Woolworths store closed. You don't really want to drive miles to the next town, only to find the same boring gifts. I know one Mother whose son received three identical Lego Bionicles for his birthday, after assembling the first two - he really couldn't be bothered to do the third, so he wrapped it up and gave it to a friend for his birthday!

At PriceRightHome we stock a wide range of gifts for boys or for the 'man' in your life. It's good to be able to give something that's different without having to traipse around the shops all day with a toddler in tow! We have some fab products from the Science Museum in a variety of price ranges. Why not consider the Science Museum Rough Roader at just £9.99 or the Dinorobot for only £9.99. We have 'big boy's toys' such as the Science Museum Electric Plane Launcher or the Remote Controlled Helicopter (which has 17% off). Our Mensa Brainteasers are also a popular choice for the whole family.

Why not stock up on several items, so you are prepared for last minute party invitations!. You only pay one delivery charge, no matter how many items you order. Just think of the money you will save on petrol and parking fees. Why not give unique and innovative gifts from the comfort of your own home?

Hassle Free Sleepovers

I don’t know about you but when I hear the words ‘can I have a sleepover Mum’ you immediately try to think of any reason as to why it’s not possible! We all lead such hectic lives nowadays, especially us working mums. We have a hundred and one things to do and the thought of having to make up the spare bed and then having to wash the sheets after just one night’s sleep is just too much hassle. Yet at the same time you don’t like to disappoint the kids.

At PriceRightHome we have some fantastic hassle free solutions to this problem – have you heard of Ready Beds? They are a fully portable bed consisting of a comfy sleeping bag, pillow and inflatable mattress - all in one. Ready Beds are a great idea as all you have to do is blow up the mattress using a foot pump (which is included) in a matter of minutes. You don’t have to worry about searching the airing cupboard for spare sheets etc as the Ready Bed is basically a sleeping bag with a mattress built in.

We have lots of different award winning ranges including Ben10, Cars, Star Wars and Disney Princess etc. If there are any ‘accidents’ during the night or any spillages following a midnight feast then don’t worry, the Ready Beds have a machine washable cover. They even come with a carry case so ‘sleepovers’ at Nanny and Grandad’s house are hassle free for them too!

Ready Beds are also a great idea for holidays - especially if you need an extra bed in your holiday apartment. When the weather is great and you want to arrange a last minute weekend break we can arrange next day delivery (if you are based in the UK). Call us on 0845 1302 141 before 3.00 pm on a Thursday and we can deliver your Ready Bed to you on Friday. Our prices are great - we are offering 10% off all Ready Beds at the moment, simply enter the code "Summer" at the checkout on our website.

What A Scorcher

Wow! What a fantastic weekend of weather we have had here in the UK. What with it being the end of the School Half Term break as well, the roads and beaches were jam packed with parents and kids!! The weathermen tell us that that 'normal service will be resumed' later this week, so have we seen the first and last of British Summertime 2009? Who knows, last summer was pretty miserable from beginning to end, all I have in my memory of the summer holidays was endless grey skies and lots and lots of rain. Let's hope for a proper summer this year.

The weather may have been fantastic, but it sure stops parents surfing the net!! As soon as the sun comes out, the visits to our website at www.pricerighthome.com slow right down. It may have been difficult to drag yourself away from the back garden (or the pub garden!) during the weekend, but we've got loads of great items to keep the kids entertained during the summer months. We must stock every kids character towel and poncho under the sun, as well as some great outdoor paddling pools. Or how about a new bike to keep the kids active during the summer months?
We've also got a great summer of new release kids movies to look forward to. I'll be posting more details of these soon.

Enjoy the summer weather whilst it lasts, who knows when it will be this good again?
